Cloakroom

Carpenter Ward's experts were called upon for the complete renovation of an outdated room that was previously used as a kitchen pantry. The customer’s remit was to design a room in keeping with a New England theme that could house all the family’s coats and shoes and also have adequate seating room and storage space.

The room was the location of the home’s main fuse board and the first task was to have this stripped out and fit a new compliant fuse board which was relocated within a hidden compartment under the window.   New electrical and heating circuitry was added to the room and the walls and ceilings were lined with plasterboard and new coving.  The lower walls were lined with wooden sheeting, simple beading and skirtings and new shelving was made and fitted.   The floors were finished with a solid oak flooring before the furniture was fitted.  Finally, all the windows had their lower glass panels replaced with clear glass to add additional light to the room.
